I sold Two loops a few years ago, not for the same reasons but the
reason is unimportant. My reason was that my family was taking to much time
away from riding and rallying. The Eldo I had restored, I sold it at a loss,
as is the norm. I broke even on the Ambo. I also "loved" them both and it
was hard to let them go. Needless to say my family (children) grew up and I
decided I needed another Goose. After looking at all of the new and slightly
used models I finally settled on an Eldorado LAPD just one year newer than
the one I restored and I paid the going rate which it turned out was more
than I sold both of the loops for. And I still have repairs and lots of
parts to replace to bring this one up to the quality of the one I restored.
It would have been a lot cheaper to keep both rather than to sell and
replace just one later.
Me vote is to put it in a clean dry place drain the fuel and
liberally apply a preservation oil to any parts that are likely to rust,
clean and wax the paint and change all the fluids. You will be surprised
just how durable these old bikes are with just minimal care. Buy the sport
bike of your choice or several! But....trust me ....someday you will want a
loop again. There is just no cure for this disease, once you have it can
flare up at any time. When it does they will always cost more to replace
then you sold it for.
Just my opinion!!!

Subject: Opinions on getting rid of my Eldo?

Firstly, I love this bike! It sounds great, looks great, runs great, is
great, and I brought it back from the dead with many new parts and much
help
from this list! I may be making a big mistake, but I REALLY miss sport
riding, and only want one bike in the garage. Considering (only
considering
just yet) putting an ad on MGNOC for sale or trade (hopefully trade for
another Guzzi). Any opinions as to why I should/should not do this?
