Just take along a couple 1/4 -20 bolts and nuts with a pair of large
flat washers . If the original terminals are still in place you can pass
the longer bolt right thru them . I personally don't like to use the
garden tractor batteries because they lack a proper remote vent. The
battery gasses corrode just about everything in the battery compartment.
Ever seen s seat pan that lived over a garden tractor battery ? The
Y-60 Yuasa or Harley HD-12 works very well.

Wouldn't buy it without STARTING IT FIRST ???
I have owned six loops that I bought without starting first. What the
heck ,the engine is easy :) Owned 40 different bikes over the years.
Bought a new 1975 Trident that didn't make it home the first time and a
1969 Rocket three -DITTO ! All the rest came home in the back of my
truck !

 Hi Mike,
Probably the only issue will be the battery cables. The end that
attaches to the battery may still be the original "pencil post" type
(there are still a few out there) and the cables may not be long enough.
If he was using a battery with the positive terminal on the left and
yours is on the right (or vice versa), the cables may not reach. It
might be best to take jumper cables along and just set your battery next
to the bike and jump off of it to the Ambo. Cheers,

Charlie.

 Hi All.

I have what might sound like a dumb question...but here goes.

I'm looking at a 1970 Ambassador for sale tomorrow and I know that the
battery is dead (he's had it in the back of the garage for a while). My
1974 Eldorado is currently using a "Power Pro Lawn and Garden" battery
and I was wondering if I could just take that to the Ambo to try and
start it up.

Anything I should be aware of in attempting to use the Eldo battery for
the Ambo...or are they universal when it comes to batteries.

Thanks!

Mike Cho
