Sorry about your loss, these accidents never seem to get easier to hear
about as the years go by. Whether it's a friend of mine or a person I never
knew, I can't help but to feel a loss myself. I think it has to do with the
type of person that rides. There's something that sets us apart from the
general population. When I need help something, whether it's M/C related or
not, the first friends I call are the ones that ride. I never have to go far
down the list before someone volunteers to help out. I think that
motorcycles attract THAT type of person. The person that has that rebellious
attitude. Rebellion leads to creativity, inspiration and loyalty. Don't
forget stubbornness. Even though these wrecks happen, and lives are lost we
still ride, it's these attributes that make us who we are and help us deal
with the loss of a pal.
Not only all of that but your pal was a Guzzi rider, that right there tells
what a person needs to know about what type of person your pal was. Say
goodbye to your pal by taking a ride in the country.

Subject: death in the Guzzi family

I learned that a friend of mine was killed last night as
he rode home from work on his HD. Y'all most likely have
never heard of Carroll Setzer, since he wasn't a member of
this list, but he was the first person I met after I got
my Eldo that rode a Guzzi too. He loaned me the first
copy of Guzziology and the original owners manual i ever
saw. He had a fully dressed 1974 LAPD Eldo that he sold
to get the HD he was riding last night. He also has had
several other Eldos and Ambos thru the years. I don't
know the details, but apparently he T-boned a Chevy Blazer
at an intersection...don't know if he ran a light or if
the other driver did. Carroll had ridden all his life and
I would think he wouldn't make stupid mistakes, but who
knows. Anyway, I'll miss Carroll a lot. Even though we
weren't real close, I hate losing a member of my community
to a bike wreck.
On a positive note, Carroll's death is the first
motorcycle fatality this summer. Pray that no more go
down.
