The cause of the melted rocker lever in CEV pill boxes is a rusty
spring and or sticky contact plunger in the contact assembly and/or
corrosion on the cotacts themselves. Years of neglect and the affects of
weather exposure will cause high resistance across the contacts. The hig
resistance = heat and that ends the chernobyl in a can's life.
Properly cleaned and maitained they will outlast even a loop and a
couple loop riders.
The PO of my 72 Police bike had a conglomeration of ricebox switchgear
on it. It has since been replacedwith the good ol CEV stuff and the
"other stuff" has been dispatched to the local landfill.

On the way home from VMD, I had another light switch bite the dust. The
headlight switch fried itself into the on position long ago, which is
fine,
but today the turnsignal switch melted the rocker part of the assembly.

Has anyone figured out a good replacement for these?
