Hello to the Group,
I am trying to install a new "Valtek" timing chain tensioner with
out removing the engine from the bike. I have the engine and frame blocked
up and the front cover off and the chain exposed.

1st ?......After removing the bolts for the old tensioner can I just leave
them out or must they be replaced and if so do I need to find shorter bolts?

2nd ?.....The chain appears to be in good shape, but I assume that it must
come off to get the old tensioner out. Is that correct or is there a trick
to getting the old one out?

3rd ?......I used the generator pully flange to hold the crank while
removing the nut that holds it on. I bolted an aluminum bar to the case and
one of the flange bolts and it held the crank solid. Can I do the same thing
to get the cam sprocket nut off?

4th ?.....Any special instructions for installing the new tensioner? This is
my first "Valtek" chain tensioner.

Thanks for any help I can get.
