Are you putting the piston in from the bottom? Have you lubed the piston,
rings and cylinder up with lots of oil? I always make sure the oil is
dripping off, that way it should slip in easy. Are the rings correctly sized
for the cylinders your using? Sit back and have a few cold ones before you
light that match.

Subject: installing cylinder...problems

What in the hell am I overlooking?!? I just broke another
piston ring trying to reinstall my cylinder. I used a
proper tool this time and still broke the ring. I put on
the last one I have and tried to use my fingers to
compress it and I can't even get the cylinder to go over
the first ring. With the tool it went over a tiny bit.
What gives? Should it fit this tighly? I have plenty of
oil on it...everything looks aligned correctly and the
damn thing still won't go on. I'm about ready to just
drop a lit match in the gas tank I'm so fucking pissed.
I really don't want to take it somewhere to have done, but
it looks like thats what I'm gonna have to do. Any
suggestions?
