That 1/4" gap is a big hint. Has to be the seat popped loose or else the cam
follower has fallen apart. Can you see the tops of both push rods when the
valves are close? If so, you might determine that both are at identical
heights or else at different heights. If they are the same, you'll have to
go for the valve seat and pull the head. If they are at differing heights,
then maybe something went amiss in the cam end of your valve train. My older
Guzzi single has rollers on bushings at the bottom end. Not sure what the
Nuovo Falcone has. Good luck.
