Also, Wal-Mart has some Stanley ratchets and sockets sets for cheap and the
Stanley stuff is not to bad for imported. I have a set of their metric allen
sockets that seem to fit very well and are very useful on the Goose. Most of
my other tools are Craftsman and a few Thorsen and Powercraft (Wards). If
the open end wrenches get too cheap they start rounding off nuts and bolts
and knuckles. Good Luck.

 Jason,
Sorry to hear about your tools theft. It's like a piece of your identity
gone.
Anyway, I bought an all metric set from Sears #933191 for between $60 -
$100, can't remember the exact price. This set will give you enough tools
to really get started and you can build upon it very easily. Came in a
nice
 blow-mold case. Bob

I know this question is a little off topic for this list, but I believe
some
you might have some valuable input.

I am currently in the process of completely restoring my 1970 ambo (my
only
mechanical project which is mainly cosmetic). A few weeks ago my truck
got
broken into and all of my tools were stolen. So I am now faced with the
predicament of replacing all of my tools.

I am looking to spend less than $300. My goal is to get a quality set of
tools at a reasonable price that I will hopefully keep forever. I have
looked at several of the Sears sets which seem nice but include a lot of
tools I will probably never use. I do not know weather to go with a
complete package set or buy smaller sets of sockets, wrenches, ect...

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
