I never go over 65 so never bothered me. No need to go fast on a Loop.

I kinda have the same attitude. Never has a shield or fairing in the
past, now that I.m gettin to be an ol'fart I thought I might try one.
Can't stand em in the summer. I'll try when it gets cold and see if the
buffetting is worth putting up with in exchange for the cold. Last year
Tom took a huge rock out on the 401 in Ontario . Busted his shield big
time. Of course the estimated trajectory would have taken out a huge
piece of his $2000 paint job and/or put a huge hurt on the jewelry
usually found at the aft end of the tank!
I know Tom was very glad he was running a shield that day. I just
can't handle the noise and the buffeting from other vehicles, especially
at 80+ mph
'Sides that the wind is a whole lot better without the barndoor on the
front of the bike.:-))

Yeah, I'll put it on for long trips, and in November for the cold season
but
other than that I don't really enjoy it. The Wixom is a BIG behemoth of
a
fairing and I feel like I should be wearing a cape and a bat mask when I
run
it.

Atta boy Kev , I threw mine in the trash and gave one to Tom. The Cal
III came with a shield and I have been trying to like it ,but it looks
like it too will be at the curb. Contrivances of some folks who would
really rather be driving a car I figger !

Nope, not me, The fairing is sitting in a closet.
