Don't you have to have intakes with the screws in them to use a carb stick?

Subject: Carb Stix

Just yanked my carb stix out of storage, been there for many a year and
figured I would try them out on the Guzzi. Problem is, I don't recall
where to hook the hose to on the carb. My stix are the old fashioned
mercury type with 4 lines. I'll have to plug up 2 of them and hook up
one each of the other 2 lines to each carb, but I can't remember where I
hooked them up to when I used them on the 78 BMW R100S I had. The
instructions just say to attach the lines but not where to. I do have
some adapter tubes for the hoses, but I'm not sure where they screw
into. I tried the direct opposite side where the fuel mixture screw is
(the screw with the spring on the carb) but it was too small and slipped
in without tightening down. Can someone tell me where to hook up the
carb stix hoses please? I follow the rest of the instructions.

Thanx!
