Thanks Jessie (and Ian), After I posted last night I went through the local
phone book and came up with an Auto Alternator/starter shop that actually
advertise that they work on Marelli units. I talked to them today and they
seemed to know what they were talking about. They even had a web page up.

So I'm dropping by after work one day this week and see what they have to
say.

Rich

If you are fretty handy with a file and sandpaper a larger brush can
easily whittle down to the size and shape you need. For final fitting
some 320 wet or dry paper wrapped around the commutator can radius the
contact surface of the brush to the proper radius. You may need to be a
bit inventive but use a little common sense and old yankee farmer
ingeuity should get thing s crankin again.
We also have a few rebuilders here in the MoCity that don't care what
it came from. I can refer you to a few.
