Hi Rick,
I guess the easiest way at a glance is the starter end cap. The Marelli will have an aluminum cap (with the model no. and Marelli name cast into it) and the Bosch a painted steel one. The solenoid on a Marelli is usually square on the end where the wires attach and bolts to the starter housing with two 6mm bolts. In any case both will have the manufacturers name on them somewhere for easy i.d. Cheers,
