What is the purpose of the locating nub piece on the spring end of the damper that fits into the fork leg. I took one fork apart and after cleaning found this nub had been beaten flat by a PO who might have put it in wrong. Is this locating nub necessary or can I reassemble and not worry about it? If it is a big deal, is this piece available?
