Longer normally means slower steering...I'd drop them down the two inches...

Subject: Fork Question

This is not a loop frame question, but I am sure some one out can help me.
I have a 75 850T based cafe racer. The PO messed up the forks bad. I
opened up the old forks and someone has made a custom dampening system. No
damper cartridge. Just a fork spring and a custom plunger in the lower leg
with holes drilled in it. Some one told me cerrioni front ends are like
this. They did work but I had no idea on how much or what weight oil to
run. I put 280 cc of ATF and they would bottom out when I hit a pot hole.
Anyway I have a good front end from a Cali 2 laying around, but the forks
are 2 inches longer. How will a 2 inch extension effect the steering ?
Faster, Slower ? I can loosen up the trees and drop the forks down 2
inches if I have to.
