Well much thanks go to Mark from MGC for his 10 second fix to my mounting problem. What a great guy!! He is definitely the man to talk to if you are doing a custom. Seems the front cover mounting holes on the T3 are set higher up than on an Eldo, so the fix for this if you want to use the alternator is to weld some tubing to the top of the original mounting tabs right in the crook of the down tube and the motor tab. This way everything lines up perfectly and if I ever decide to put a generator back on the tabs are still there. Now the only thing to do is find someone with a welder nearby. :)
