Dave, what kind of piston/cyl clearance do you run with these kits? I'm
assuming they were cast iron sleeves...

 What I do is remove the metal rings(carefully) around the 1000 gaskets
pushrod holes.Then assembly the top end in the usual matter.Be sure to use
a
 gasket sealer such as permatex super 300.Not too much.Torque the heads in
the proper pattern at 5lbs at a time to 32lbs.Let it sit for a day.Then
after 40 or 50 easy miles and 4 0r 5 complete heat up cool down
cycles,retorque the heads.Do this again at 200 mi. Others may have
different
 opinions on this but I have done three 949cc Eldos.this way with no
problems. Dave
