Have to agree. Tried one of these while searching for a halogen. The thing
wasn't all that great. My regular bulb was much brighter.

Not very bright in daylight and visibly weaker at night than the 1157.
The daylight problem makes brake lights hard to discern.

There are a few drawbacks as far as lighting the license plate but the
red ones are perfect for the loopers with faded taillight lenses.
And they really don't burn out. Good for those of us riding back from
the tavern!
