Jim,
Not a penny more than you are willing to pay for it! Actually, I dare not say. I have seen several police models go for more than 5K but most of them were restored by Cycle Garden. My guess is that it will go for over 4K and if it is as good as it looks then it may be worth it, but photos can hide a lot of blemishes. It has Amal carbs and most people do not like the Amals. The 4LS brake on the front is supposed to be OK if it is adjusted right.
If you live close enough, go take a look at it and ride it if possible. Then pick an amount you would be willing to pay and make your bid. One consolation, the price of the loop frame Guzzis is not going down so if you maintain the bike as good or better than it is now you should eventually get your money back. And if you compare it to my 401K then it just might be a good investment. I lost over 4K in the last six months.
I paid about that for my '74 LAPD last year, with a disc brake, Delortos and painted fenders. Mine was also fully Wixom dressed but not quite as nice cosmetically if those photos are accurate

Anyone have an idea what that "Police Captain's Eldo" is worth?

I'm still wanting to get an 850 even if it is so rare that nobody has heard of it.
