Chris,

And as soon as I can get my butt in gear I will send your actual motorcycle
bars to replace those bicycle bars. :)
Crashbars go first then the floorboard rails. The hole is supposed to be
threaded in the frame.

The last couple of weeks have been some good times wrenching on my little
project. Last weekend was the great engine installation.

Ride out to Brooklyn was great. Dave forgot to mention that on our way out
Eric Greene's, we cruised by Manfred Hecht's old building. I think Dave
did
it subconsiously. With regard to my Triumph on the highway, well Dave
forgets that his GuzziTech mapped, powercommander equiped, fuel injected
1100cc Jackal is a wee bit faster than my single 30mm carbed 650. Still a
good ride, and Eric's place is always fun to hang out at with some very
cool
bikes. Next time I'll bring the camera to show you.

Well the beast is in (90Hp may be a bit overstated but I do expect great
things). Once we had everything it was pretty easy. I really like Dave
Otis'
method of engine installation (although I have never attempted putting one
into a rolling frame). Just seems like it would be less clumsy than having
wheels on the frame. Pics can be found here:

Here comes the first question - I have floorboard rails and a police
sidestand crashbar. Which goes on first? The crashbar is currently on
first,
but the floorboard rail had to be shimmed with 3 big washers to clear the
sidestand bracket. Did any of you cut the bracket?

Second Question - the bolts that go into the crashbars just above the
engine
mounting bolts at the front of the frame - is the hole in the frame
threaded? Should it be?

This past Friday, Dave and I pulled the engine out of his eldo to get at
that pesky generator bracket. Good times. We are getting pretty fast at
installing and removing loop engines. Getting them to start is a whole
other
story. Pics are also on that website.

Which leads me to my next question. Has anyone on this list, who has a
big
bore kit in their bike, had any trouble running the stock bosch starter?

As for the mockup pics on the site, well sometime you have to remind
yourself
you are building a motorcycle. The handlebars are from a bicycle, but are
close to what I want to use.

Since I said it before generally, I will say it specifically - Dave
Luby -
 your bike kicks ass.

Take it easy fellas and thanks for the help,
Chris M.
