Hi All,
For anyone that was interested, here's the info. from the local PPG dealer I visited today:
V700 silver - "Astra Silver Poly", Tinting Guide: DBC33108 (base coat Urethane system, no OEM)
- "Astra Silver Poly", Tinting Guide: DAR 33108 (Acrylic Enamel, OEM Mercedes DB735)
The paint tech did say that the tint was slightly off on the Acrylic Enamel and recommended the base coat Urethane.
But wait! There's more! I pulled a battery cover off of my white '69 Ambo and took one of the black NOS early Ambo sidecovers along as well. Here's what he came up with on them:
Ambo black - "Black", Tinting Guide: DBC9667 (base coat Urethane, OEM General Motors 19U)
Ambo white - "Cameo White", Tinting Guide: DBC90256 (base coat Urethane,
no OEM)
I had some Falcone hubs color matched and then painted using the information from the same supplier and they came out excellent. Hopefully the same will be true with these as well. The paint tech. that did these was very helpful and even quite knowledgable about Guzzis (he owns an early Goldwing). Cheers,
