Hi, John, that's a clean Ambo you have!
Thanks; I just finished putting it together last spring (remember
spring? That's when it gets warm. It's 9 degrees here now.) It hasen't
had a chance to get real dirty yet. Here's a link to some better pics:

 Mine is white,
too, but much dirtier then yours. It's a beaut! Are
those leg shields a stock option?
Yep, although I've never seen them here in the states. What made me
decide on them was that when I originally got the bike and tore it down,
I noticed that the footpegs has these brackets on the underside, that
weren't on my '71. I found out that these were for leg shields, and
additionally you need the right crashbars that have threaded bosses on
them to mount the leg shields to. I had to replace the crashbars anyway,
and the correct ones were the same price as the regular ones. I got the
leg shields from Moto Int'l, they brought them in from Teo Lamers in
Holland, I think. If memory serves, they were around $55 ea.

I wouldn't mind

having something like that. They must interfere with
the cooling, though. Do you ride your bike with them
on in the summer?
I haven't noticed any adverse effects, although I'm sure that lots of 90
degree touring wouldn't be a good thing. There's a nice big hole where
the header goes through that is right in front of the cylinder, allowing
for plenty of air flow.
