Hi Jim, it would be unusual if your frame and engine matched as most V700's
didn't...let us know what you find out.

 Anyone on the list know what the earliest v700 came into the us.I have
just aquired a v700 with the frame and motor ID of 1278 There was no
title so I am not sure what year it isMy guess would be early 67.Is
there a way to find out the year it was made.thanks for any help

Mine is a '67 with a Serial number of 1453. I am the second owner, having
bought it in 1971. I bought it from a guy who used to be a mechanic at
the
 local Guzzi shop. He said (I have no way of verifying this) that it was
the
 first one to be delivered to the north Texas area. I believe my frame and
engine numbers match but I'd have to take a look.
