Hi Paul,
I don't usually, just got lucky lately. My bro' found the V7 Sport in CA for me when he was delivering an Audi 5 cylinder diesel to a guy. Turns out the guys has bikes he wanting to sell. The Stornello was just me running my mouth (something I'm quite good at) about Guzzis and having someone nearby hear me that had one to sell. Like they told me in a job search seminar once - network, network, network. In other words, if people know you're into a particular thing, when they run across that thing they'll think of you. Cheers,

Charlie

Hi Tom,

Sounds like a good deal! Keep me in mind for the rear drive - the only good
one I have has 8/37 gears (probably from a V700) not the 8/35 Ambos used.
The pinion gears on the other four rears have big pits on the teeth or have
missing teeth. Not good.

My V7 Sport/Ambo/Ambo purchase evolved into a V7 Sport/'73 BMW R75/5 deal.
The owner couldn't bear to part with the Ambos and the only way he'd sell
the V7 Sport was if we took the BMW with it. The BMW is in need of TLC, but
has a set of Wixom bags, a larger than stock tank and some sort of weird
fairing. Still $2000 for both is a steal and I hope to recover some of that
by selling the BMW. Anyone interested?

We won't need facilities to store a bike after all then - last I heard from
my brother he was in Oklahoma and hoped to be home here in MD by Tuesday
after visiting friends in the Asheville area. I can't wait - it's like
Christmas Eve when I was a kid! Cheers,

Charlie

Well, from the "I just can't say 'no'!" dept.

I bought a 71 Ambo with a bad motor. Conmplete bike 'cept for one
battery cover. Guy thru in a trailor, too.

Most of this stuff will be for sale soon. Rear drive, anyway...

I'll keep you posted..
