Charlie>tell us other v7sport / Looper guys about the color ?and vin #? does
it have a v7sport gas tank? or a Lemans 1 ? does it have the Cross rims ?
electromagnet valve ? what has been changed on the bike ? does it have the
swans necks handlebars ? how about the switches ? is it shift on the right
or left ? regular patern or racer ? what condition is the seat in ? Keep us
informed--and join the micapeak registry............KO.......2+2---2
v7sport's and 2 Eldo's...............ps I just ordered Falcon shocks from
England as the Koni's are 30 years old with even older technology-the
mufflers are available from Augostini,Stein-Dinse,and from a company in
Enland that advertises in Classic Bike. As for the wax like
preservative--elbow grease, lots of it and warm water and 00 steel wool or
softer and rubbing compound. You'll look like Popeye when done !!!!

 Hi All,
Thanks to everyone that responded to my query about tires. It looks like
it may be a while before I get that far, but it's nice to have an idea
of how much to budget.

My next question is this: The bike at first glance appeared to have
heavy rust on all of the chrome parts. Thankfully, in the light of day
it turns out to be some sort of wax-like preservative that is very
difficult to remove. Cosmoline perhaps? What do you think may remove
this the best while not harming the paint and decals? I thought about
trying some wax and grease remover used in autobody repair. That
shouldn't be too aggressive - any other suggestions?

Overall the bike appears to be in good condition with the exception of
the mufflers and rear shocks. The mufflers are the original "shark gill"
ones and are rusted from the inside out. That and the PO pop-riveted the
internal baffles in place! I know these mufflers were available not too
long ago, but are they now? Any aftermarket replacements that would work
and look nearly stock? The shocks are leaking just like the other two
pair of Konis I have. Are any kits available to rebuild these?

Thanks in advance!
