Valeo starters work on Loops too. I had one on my Ambo and I believe Tom
Bowes has one on his also.

But I believe those are for the tonti bikes. The loops use a different
starter.

Well, after the starter smoked I took it off the bike and took a look
inside.
It appears that the solinoid stuck and did not allow the starter to
shut

down and caused major damage in side(at least thats my guess). The
bracket
that holds the brushes in place burned through and one of the brushes
melted
on to the armature. Not sure what to do but look for another starter.
Anyone have any suggestions? New? Used? What replaces a Marelli
starter?
