Hi Ian,
All I know about the numbers are that according to the owner the frame
number starts with "VS" and it has an "A" in it.
I have not seen the bike yet myself and the owner on the phone could not
make out the numbers in a badly lite shed with dead batterys in his torch!

I am trying to get the info I need together so if I go to see it this
weekend or the next I will be able to make a positive id at the time so I
can deal from a position of knowlege.

Regards
Gavin

 Gavin,

What are the serial numbers from the left side of the engine case and on
the
 steering head?

Hiya people,
I am looking at buying a Guzzi that I have been told is a V7 700.
But it is registered as a "V7 Special" year on the papers is 1969.

I have some questions to tax the Guzzi brain!
The first production V7 '67 does not appear to have any webing on the
crankcase running on the left hand side from the barrel base towards the
starter. Yet one from 1969 V7 seems to have that web.
Anyone know hat was used in 68?

Also does anyone know how to tell the year from the engine or chassis
number?

He could not see the number in the dark tonight! So I don't know what it
is.

One book tells me then numbers should be between "VS 00 AA" and "VS 99
SS". Is the book right?

Kind regards
Gavin
