Guzziesti,
I'm building an Eldo motor, ready to install rods, check for the cylinder
wall lubrication ports, & find none! There are small half moon shaped
cutouts in the big end next to the rod bearings that I don't see on any of
the rods w/the ports I have. The rod part number from Eldo parts book has an
update, (14061501-use14061506) is the new number the rod w/the port?
The non-ported rods that came out of the motor look crude & don't have "moto
guzzi" cast in the sides. I have a set (unsure what they came from) w/ the
ports & the "moto guzzi" in the sides, by everything I can measure they are
identical, any reason why I shouldn't use them? I also have a set that I
know are from an SP1000, once again, all the measurements are the same, but
they carry a different part number (14061550). Is there a difference in
weight for the 1000 motor? I don't have a precision balance.
What rods should I use for maximum longevity of this motor?
