Ray, if I understand the part that you are referring
to (the only chromed parts on my Ambo forks), I took
mine off rather easily using a belt wrench. I bought
the wrench just for that job, but it has been handy to
have around - I have used it for other things since
then (oil filters, canning jar lids...)
