His name is Brian Henderson. His company is called two wheel specialist, 1919
Cassburn Road, Vankleek Hill Ontario. 613 678 3364.

The email I sent out to the group was actually reprinted in the MGNOC
Newsletter, May 2003 Pg33. He installs Vintage Brake 2520V. Shawn: do you get
the newsletter? I don't have a copy of my post on the computer.

I have not had a chance to try out the brakes yet, which is why I did not say
anything: discovered another problem that needed to be fixed. I have finally
started taking the front end apart and only hitch so far is that a plastic
component in the instrument cluster broke off - hoping I can glue it back
together.

Speaking of softer brake linings. Shawn...there is a fellow that lives near
Ottawa. He is an old time vintage racer (a REAL character) and has a company
that will set your drum brakes up as good as they can be. You bring him the
whole wheel and they set the brakes so that you get maximun pad hitting the
drum. I have heard they made braking on the old drums excellent. I was going
to do it but left Montreal.

Elisabeth....do you remember his name? I thought you were going to get your
brakes done with him at one point.

Hi, Shawn. Welcome to the club. I used to complain
that the front brake was the only thing I didn't like
about my Ambo. I recently put on shoes with a softer
compound, and it made a big difference. They are
approximately as good as the discs on the older bikes
I had (but they do squeel a lot). I am using the
compound from Moto Guzzi Classics, but other shops
sell compounds that they claim are good, too.

Hi guys,
I have an 73 850 eldo up here in
Montreal.......................
Also, can anyone give me
directions on setting up the front brake. I
have never owned drum brakes
before as my last bike was a KLR 650 and
before that, a 73 honda 550.

Thanks a lot,
Looking forward to your emails.
