Sounds about right!!

Rallying has got to be about the funnest thing you can do with your
clothes on, unless you belong to NANMRA, of course.

Rex,
A Guzzi rally is a gathering of folks w/a common interest-motorcycles,
specifically MOTO GUZZI! Details differ form one to the next, but the
theme
is the same.
As an example, the VMGOC (Virginia Moto Guzzi Owners Club) Rally Alice &
I
put on is held in a small town park in the Blue Ridge mountains ( Glen
Maury
Park in Buena Vista, VA) The features are; 1. RIDING, the town of Buena
Vista is just 8 miles down twisty mountain roads from the Blue Ridge
Parkway. Challenging roads & gorgeous scenery abound in all directions.
Also, Virginia roads are noticeably smoother than PA-NY snow belt
states. We
have a guided ride & several self-guided rides, including a "winery
ride"
w/stops at several of the family wineries scattered through the BR
mountains. 2. FOOD, (ride to eat-eat to ride) your rally fee covers
Friday
night dinner, Saturday night dinner, & Sunday morning pancake breakfast.
This year Friday dinner is going to be "all American" 'burgers, hot
dogs,
potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans. Saturday is catered by a local
Italian
restaurant & will have garden salad, pasta w/ white clam, vegetable
marinara, or meatball sauce (your choice), fresh baked bread, assorted
pies
& cheesecake for dessert. 3. GUZZI FRIENDS we usually have around 120
guests
at our VA rally. 4. AWARDS & PRIZES, We will present awards for "long
distance" (most miles from home to the rally-motorcycles ridden only)
Guzzi
(riding a Guzzi) 1-up male & female, 2-up. The same 3 categories for
open
class (riding brand X). Also , Senior rider, Youngest rider, Oldest
Guzzi,
Best loop frame, & peoples choice. Door prizes, last year everyone
attending
won a prize! Over the years, I'd say we average 60-70% of the attendees
getting a doorprize.
Accommodations, you can check out www.vaguzzi.com for all the details,
but
most folks camp at the park around the large pavilion that is "rally
central", there are plenty of motels nearby for the non-campers. I'm
sure
you'll get other responses that will give you a more expansive picture,
but
the best thing to do is pick one & come on out!
