I dont think the vented covers were used for oil, I think it was for
moisture to have a place to escape.
I don't know what the pressure is supposed to be up there, or if it's even
worth measuring or even if there is a spec on this. I wouldn't think that
too much pressure is the problem, your cover is probably warped, that your
checking, it could also be the head, or gasket surface of the head.
What about the oil line connections at the head? Could it be leaking from
there?
If you do think it's pressure build up, might want to check your breather
box.
I think Guzziology talks about this, along with venting covers.

Boy-howdee, the exciting, dynamic world of the sludge trap.
I'm going to jump in with a rather different question. Anyone ever
adapt later (Tonti) style valve covers to an Eldo or Ambo? One of mine
leaks a bit at high speed, and I'm wondering if maybe it has too much
pressure and oil on the top end. The later models have a vent tube that
sends oil back to the crankcase.
I'll take it off and make sure it's flat first, but I was just curious.

Cheers,
Jason
