Hi Bob,
From what I understand (never opened one up to see) the real Bosch Blue Coil
is epoxy filled instead of oil filled. The fake ones can be detected by
shaking them and listening for the sloshing noise, not to mention their
slightly lighter shade of blue paint.

My original Marelli coil developed a crack in the top that I'd have never
discovered if I hadn't wiped some dirt off and a drop of oil seeped out.
Could have been catastrophic a little farther down the road! Cheers,

Charlie

Almost all of the can type coils are oil filled . The oil cools the coil

The old coil still has oil in it. I shook the new
coil to see if there's oil in it but heard nothing sloshing around in
there. New coil works great. So, what is better coils with or without
oil?? Why? Bob
