My 1970 Ambo had the rear mount bolt snapped off flush, and the forward
positioning pin was worn sloppy when I took ownership.1 year later,I
spun the left rod bearing on the expressway on the way to work. The Goose
was dismantled, and sat on a bench the next 9 years. This winter when
I began putting it back together,I cut some blocks out of 1" aluminum
stock, and had them heliarched(?) in between the webs on either side of
the mounting boss,then drilled,tapped,and helicoiled for 8mm bolts.the
front bolt was retained.Welded the rear hole along with the split (the
bracket was split side to side)and drilled two holes for the new
bolts. Then bedded the front pin on a strip of leather.Only 1100 miles on
yet,too soon to tell. Scott in Wis.
