Which side did you run the #52? And why?

For some odd reason my carbs are running lean (plug is white/clean,
exhaust pipe turns dark on the left side,,,,right side plug burns tan
with slight color on pipe). I've checked for air leaks etc,
everythings new, compression is 150 each side, valves set ect. That was
with the stock idle/pilot jets...#45. At 4000 rpms, checking the marks
I made on the throttle grip, I determined I was using a 1/4 throttle at
the most.

At 1/4 throttle the idle/pilot jet and the needle's taper, controls the
fuel. There is not a lot of needles available, The V9 was too rich for
my application in any position so I went the path of larger idle/pilot
jets to increase the fuel. A larger atomizer could help but unobtainable
for VHB's.

I went larger until the mixture screws were almost in all the way for
smooth idle. I still need to try a 62 or 63 in the left side, it still
needs a little more gas.

I may be twisted in my methodology, but after a month of various
convoluted attemps at different ways this seems to work the best.

Later,
