sometimes you gotta seal them. I had tons of
flaky rust crap in donor tank #2. I used some
sealer that I got fromhttp://www.por-15.com/.

it is unlike the kreem stuff (latex?) that can
chunk up and flake off if not applied correct.

oh, the por-15 stuff itself supposedly will not
harm paint, but the prewash/etchings stuff is
quite strong.

I have never used the sealer in any of my tanks. The best thing you can
do is clean it real good and then pour some marvel mystery oil in and
swish it around. Drain this out and fill her up and go. This is a trick
I learned from Dad and it has worked well. If those liners are not done
correctly they WILL peel and clog every hole in your carbs and petcocks.

Hi,
I have a freshly rechromed tank that needs cleaning and sealing inside.
Does anyone know of a shop on the east coast that does a good job. I
realise this should have been done before chroming. Obviously I'll need
to talk to someone about what can be done to preserve the chrome while
cleaning. The closer to Florida, the better, but I'll ship it to the
right company.
Fingers crossed.
Thanks
Ray
