Actually, Charlie, they are quite easy to find in some
neighborhoods. The bike I rode while living in Romania
was six volt, as are quite a few bikes and cars still
in use in Eastern Europe. Just go down the street to
the local garage that does Trebant repairs and they
will have a variety of 6-volt stuff for you to select
from.

Hi All,
Ever tried to find six volt bulbs for an old
motorcycle? I can tell you
it hasn't been a picnic for me! It took four tries
before I found a
simple "bayonet" base bulb for the speedo of the
Falcone I've been
working on. I still need a bulb for the "key in/on"
indicator light
which is cylindrical and about 1" - 1 1/8" in length.
A British car
website I found called it a "festoon" style whatever
that is. It's
glass
in the middle with pointed metal caps on either end.
Only thing it says
on it is that it's 6 volt and 1.5 watts. One from a VW
Beetle interior
light is the right type but too long. Any ideas?
Trying to get this
bike
ready to ride on the upcoming "Nostalgia Run" Sept.
7th in Thurmont,
MD.
Thanks,

Charlie.
