Steve,
You're right that the groove is for civilian cap, but both these tanks
have the groove. One is just noticably higher.

I think the one with the grove around the top is a civilian version and
takes a flip cap. The one without the grove around the filler is a
Police tank and takes a screw off type cap. I may have it reversed.

Hi,
Here I go being anal again but I have two Eldo tanks with slight
differences. The main one being that the filler tubes are different
heights. I have posted pics in hopes that someone can tell me if the
stock civilian cap will fit either, or why the difference in the first
place? Was one for another cap? A simple model year change? Maybe a diff

between Eldo and Ambo?

I have a civilian cap but haven't tried it yet because the filler tube
on the tank with the taller tube is taped up real nice for painting and
I don't want to disturb that if someone has the answer for me. Would
some of you mind looking closely at your tank with the cap open and
check the height of the tube compared to these two?

It might mean nothing at all but after I placed them on the bench
together and noticed it, my curiousity got the best of me. Obviously.
Oh, the reason for all this is that I'm trying to choose between these
tanks before I go any further.
Thanks
