i just realized what you mean - i already have 2 spanners for the lock ring,
and even have a spanner socket that will fit it. my problem is getting in
there without removing the top plate - or does the top plate come off easier
than i am assuming? it looks like a press on typa item...

 I hate to say this, but a BMW tool fits those lockrings nicely. You
might need two of them- one for backup.
