John,

I have some experience with Odyssey gel batteries, but not in
a Loopframe. I had one in a custom Softail that lasted 5 years
with no problems. It did go dead on me a few times, but that was
my fault. I charged it and it never failed me.
I suppose the question is, why wouldn't you run one in a Loop?
If the vented ones ruin battery pans, wouldn't it make sense to
put a sealed one in. I would.

All the best,

Todd Nordwig

After reading the archives, I went out today to find a group 55 vented
battery with enough power to spin a loop motor fast enough to make it
dizzy!

Vented caps are a thing of the past and soon Group 55 batteries!!!

Wally World (Walmart) still show them, but non-vented. Sears has
discontinued them. Most auto chains are out but their's are also
non-vented.

Looking at an Odyssey...sealed/long life/no acid. They have a 925
series with lots of CCAs and a 680 with lower numbers. The 925 on it's
side will fit in.

Any feedback on what's worked for you??? I looked at
tractor/lawn/motorcycle juice boxes but the CCAs are a lot less. For
a few dollars more the Odyssey seems like the way to go.

Thanks,
JU
