I have not had my Ambassador powdered but I did shop around when I did my
Alazzurra. After talking to a few shops I settled on one that primarily did
production runs for manufacturing companies and because the owner was an
avid motor company enthusiast also did motorcycle parts also. He explained
the whole process from blasting and dipping to the application and baking,
showed me the plugs they used for any threaded holes, explained how he would
go light on the VIN numbers so that they would not filled in and talked me
into putting a clear powder top coat on for more depth (I did the frame in
red). The job came out absolutely beautiful and I'm happy that I took the
time to shop as I later ran into some folks who had stuff done that turned
out less than desirable. Just food for thought as any shop that knows what
they are doing will have plugs for the threaded holes.

Good Luck,
Rich

If anybody is interested in Joe's bike, I will attest to it's performance
and looks. Rode with him from Indy to Mid-Ohio, and have to admit that it
put my hot rod Commando to the test! On another note, I was to meet up with
some guys this past weekend at a swap meet in Martinsville, IN...got there
around 12:00 and didn't see any Guzzi's. It was kind of a bust anyway.
Somebody on list offered my a set of "frame plugs" before I go to powder
coater. Offer still open? I'll pay freight both ways. Thanks, Brett in Indy,
go fast turn left!!
