I used to use it on the toes of my boots in the Army for inspections. It made them look like a mirror. :)

I've used Future floor polish with great success, seems to stop the oxidation and doesn't yellow or peel or anything. Just takes a little bit. If you search around this website, there's an online booklet on how to buff and polish aluminum: http://www.caswellplating.com/index.html
