I thought the bike they flew off the carrier (pier?) in Magnum Force was

just a Triumph dressed to look like a SFPD Loop, not a Triumph engine in

a Loop frame (difficult to do). Made me cringe when Harry headed-on
collided with a real Loop. What a terrible thing to do to a Loop! Glad
they dunked a Triumph! Cheers,

Right. Then they could boast "No Guzzis were harmed in the making of
this film!"

Anyone out there ever put together a list of movies that have loops or
other Guzzis in them? I like seeing loops on the big screen. Here are
a couple movies that I know of that have loops:

-Harold and Maude (Great movie)

-Magnum Force (Dirty Harry flick in which that actually put a Triumph
engine in a loop frame for one of the scenes so that they can build
suspense by showing Harry kick start the bike)

Any others???

My complaint isn't big because I love Greg Field's book "Moto Guzzi Big
Twins" (I look at it like a kid would look at a Toys R' Us catalog this
time of the year) but here goes:

Page 41 shows a picture of a yound Sean Conney looking cool on a Police
loop and the caption reads "The new Bond may ride a BMW, but the real
Bond, Sean Connery, rode a Guzzi, at least on the this day in March
1971, during the filming of Diamonds are Forever."

Now... wouldn't this lead most people to believe that he would be riding

this loop in the movie? That was my understanding so I went out and
rented the movie and sat through what I would rank as one of my least
favorite Bond movies ever. I guess Connery was just riding the loop
around the set or something.
