Hi Michael,
All but the earliest Ambos use the same tank as the Eldo (other than
filler neck variations). My '69 Ambo has the original V700 style (4 1/2
gal.) on it now and had a later (5 1/2 gal.) tank on it previously. The
coil on my '69 mounts sideways and would hit the bottom of the late tank
unless spaced down, there are recesses on the bottom of the early one to
clear. The V700 style tank will hit the coil mounting tabs on later
bikes unless they are removed, but otherwise as far as I can tell either
will bolt up okay. I've seen it mentioned that there are clearance
problems with the handlebar mounts as well, but haven't had any myself.
