greetings!
well, here's what happened a couple of weeks ago. some guy called me on the
phone, and said that he had "heard about me" [uh, oh....] he had recently
bought a cal II [not his first guzzi] and the bugger seized up tight. not
being mechanically inclined [and smart enough to know it, unlike me- ahem],
he asked if i could look at him for him [why not- he's only 2 states away!]
in conversation, he mentioned that he had also bought a low mileage V-700
that looked, well, rough. [ i intuited some dirt kicking around the
proverbial bush at this time].
and so, sat. i boogie a few hrs. in the high-mileage gas-sucking pickup
truck to rescue the Cali. AND [supposidly] when i return it, all fixed up,
to him, the sorry little V comes home with me. [my origional plan- to pick
them both up at the same time? oh, well] :> good thing there are some
tonti-type stuff in the barn!
stayed up late last nite reading Mario Columbo's excellent 80 years of
moto guzzi [my Christmas present to me] couldn't sleep for anything. doze
off, dream about stornello's, dondolino's, astore's, falcone's, etc.! [might
have been Dad's homemade venison meatloaf at work, too. whew!] not enough
Labatts blue! :>O
