Ha! I love it!! That is my pet peeve when I am riding.
Having lived in Maine for 4 years I used to cross into Canada near Calais,
ME and St. Stephen...
never had a problem. Went to Campobello Island many a time and was never
held up.
The only time I did have a problem was when I moved to Maine. I had a
U-haul full of stuff and was taking the northern route thru Detroit/Windsor.
Canadian Customs pulled me over and wanted me
to empty all of my 22 ft uhaul because I said yes to hauling firearms....it
was packed to the top!!
I explained I was on my way to Maine and had no intentions of
stopping........he waved me thru.
If traveling thru Canada now, I would cross at the less traveled crossings.
They seem to have more tolerance, but I have to admit, I have not crossed
into Canada for a few years. I do love riding up there.......people are
friendly and roads are great.........

Haven't been in a long time, not on a bike since 9/11. I used to ride
Canada
quite a bit. Allot depends on the person. What mood they are in. Never had
a
problem on the bike though, one time coming back to the U.S.... A car was
riding my ass the whole way to the customs booth. It was a female customs
agent at the booth. Never asked me the typical questions, Citizenship?,
Where were you and why? ect. She said she had been watching the car behind
me the whole way up to the booth. She said her and her ol' man ride and she
can't stand seeing crap like that and to go ahead through. Said she would
take care of them. Heh, Heh. As I was riding off a look behind showed her
saying something to them, pointing her finger at me then at them. Then the
dreaded search tag was placed on the windshield. Ha!

Be prepared to have all of your shit gone through with a fine tooth
comb; I've heard from several people that going into Canada on a bike is
an experience they won't repeat.

 Good question, anyone know?
