Agreed!
Also take the slack out of the brake cable. I raise mine up and spin
the wheel and tighten the cable until I can hear the shoes start to rub
and back it off a hair. I want shoe contact to start as soon as my
fingers touch the lever. Do the same with the rear wheel.

Be sure the two front shoes are "timed" to meet the drum at the same
time by adjusting the external connecting rod.
