Felt like such a wimp last Sunday. While at the DC Cycle World show, I
bumped into local rider Bob McKeithen who had ridden to the show on his
Bassa. Though the temps got into the 20's, it was still plenty cold with
the breeze and all. Bob looked kinda' like the Pillsbury dough-boy's
evil twin with all the gear he had on. Bob's a bit hardcore anyway
having completed a trip to South America and back last year on the same
bike. Cheers,

Charlie

Well for anyone interested there is the Mid Atlantic Bike Show at the
Richmond, Va Convention Center next weekend January 24th & 25th, then
January 30th - Feb 1st is the 21st Annual Baltimore International
Motorcycle Show at the Baltimore Convention Center. Took Daisy for a
brisk ride in the nice 36 degree weather yesterday. Got some really
strange looks and lot's of thumbs up from folks while I was out. Stopped

at a local bike shop to get the inspection done and I was the ONLY one
riding there! A bunch of guys came in wearing their club colors, but
they all got out of a TRUCK! So what is the purpose of displaying your
club colors if your not RIDING your BIKE? I guess it's just too easy to
jump in the car nowdays and fire up the heater.

Saw a guy come into the store the other week, luckily the one day that
week I was able to ride the Guzzi to work.....he was like a caricature
of "the biker image" from his hair to his studded engineer boots.
Tattoos, ragged levi vest, chain belt and wallet fob, chrome wraparound
shades, patches, colors, fingerless gloves; and got into a 1990 Ford
Taurus when he left. I guess in his mind, I was some sort of fairy for
wearing a plain Tourmaster nylon/kevlar jacket.
