I really do not use any tire dressings and keep the bike garaged. Before I
had the K70's on my eldo, I had the contis blitz which cracked and the ones
on my wife's Ambo cracked. The summer heat and humidity is brutal here, not
to mention the pollution. That may play a part.

 Hi Skip,
I've been using a Conti Blitz front and Tour rear with good results, but
as you said, it may be the hot Florida climate that makes them crack.
Mine usually stay on for just over a year (10,000 miles per yr.) and
show no signs of cracking. Do you use any kind of tire dressing? My
Uncle was a big fan of Armor-All back in the day and was always
complaining that his tires (car and bike) cracked before they wore out.
Once he stopped using it, the problem disappeared. Armor-All has changed
the formulation of the product since way back then I understand. Just a
thought.

I've heard positive remarks about the Bridgestone Spitfire S11s, may try
a set myself. The price is very reasonable and they're more widely
available than the Contis. Cheers,

Charlie

My eldo needs a new set of skins and I am doing some research as to
which
brand are you guys happy with on your loops. I have used conti's but
the
side walls always seem to crack up before the treads wear out. A friend
of
mine who was a VW - Porsche dealer in the 70's in California told me
they
had the same problem with the stock Contis on the cars. They would get
about 12 months out of them before they start to crack. Maybe it has
something to do with the hot weather. I currently have some Dunlop
K70's on
my eldo and don't care for them. The seem to ride hard and are already
wearing out. So what are you guys running ?
