I've been struggling with removing the chrome (well it was originally) rusty
collar off of the fork sliders using special tool so graciously provided by
Kevin Graf. Damn large crescent wrench needed....and have read and heard horror
stories about the collar collapsing when a strap wrench is used, etc., etc.
So, I get ready to do the deed and remove the damn thing when a friend said,
"Why don't you put the special tool in the vise and turn the slider?"
Hmmm......so, I did. Stuck a breaker bar through the axle hole on slider and Voila! like
a knife through hot butter the slider spins and collar is loose in perfect
form!! FYI for those who are going to do this...this is the way easy way! Brett
