The left carb in on your left when you are sitting on the bike, as long as you are facing forward.

The manual also says to idle the bike to 1000-1200 RPM while you adjust this setting. My throttle has the thumbscrew to hold it in this position. The start position for the right carb is 1 12 turns, but the left is 1 34 to 2 turns. Also check synchronazation of the slides before you start on the carb adjustment. Greg '74 LAPD
